There are plenty of guesthouses and B'n'B's on the island. We recommend staying in Hydra Town or just outside the town (e.g. Kamini). Other options futher out are Mandraki and Vlyhos. There are some more up-market hotels and villas to rent on the island. We recommend looking through the offers at webpages like booking.com, hotels, com and tripadvisor.com for guest houses and hotels or airbnb.com or homeaway.com for villas and apartments.
Ferries leave about every hour during the day for Hydra in July. We recommend booking ferry tickets in advance. Ferry tickets for 2017 are not yet up for sale. However, there is no shortage of tickets. There are many websites to book through. We use this one: http://www.ferries.gr/greek-islands-ferry/. Ticket prices vary and so does the travelling time.
