It was Monday, March 26, 2012, and he was on his way to Campbell Hall, Room 309 at The Ohio State University. He had his headphones in as he walked from the Sigma Alpha Mu house. When he finally got to French 104.01 class, he took a seat near the back of the room. It was time for class to start, but when Madame began to speak, the door opened. A girl walked across the room and sat down by the windows. Her blonde hair glowed in the sunlight. Once she was settled, she looked around the room to check out the crowd. That’s when she saw him. There’s something about him, she thought to herself. Madame then asked everyone to get up and introduce themselves to their classmates. It was like a strong magnetic pull that drew them to each other. “Je m’appelle John,” he said fluidly, but she was lost in his deep brown eyes. On Wednesday, he sat in the same seat and looked around the room. She wasn’t there yet. After she finally walked through the door, he couldn’t believe it when she sat in the seat to his left. He actually looked up at the ceiling and mouthed “Thank you, God.” At the end of the day, she went home and told her friends about “French Boy”, and he told his friends about “French Girl”. They sat next to each other every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and decided to be partners for all groupwork for the rest of the quarter. The chemistry between them was undeniable.

Today, French Boy and French Girl have come further than they ever imagined. They now live in Philadelphia and have two dogs (a Leonberger named Jack and a Mini Goldendoodle named Benny). They have supported each other through their journeys of becoming a pharmacist and attorney. On Friday, November 8, 2019, John made Jenn the happiest girl in the world when he asked her to spend the rest of her life with him at the place where it all began, The Ohio State University. They started their day by eating at “Jack and Benny’s”, a breakfast diner just north of campus. Then they visited all of the places on campus that are significant to them, including their old apartments, their French classroom, etc. When they reached The Oval, John got down on one knee in the same spot where they hung out for the first time outside of French class. • • • From partners in French class to partners in life, French Boy and French Girl are so grateful for everyone who has supported them along the way, and they cannot wait to celebrate their Marriage with you EXACTLY 10 years after the day they first met!
