Our first date isn't one you'd see in your everyday romance movies unless, of course, that movie was a satire. It all started back in October, 2021. It was a crisp fall evening, and Trevor suggested we go on a haunted hayride. Of course, I did not dress for the weather, I wanted to look cute instead. As we patiently awaited our turn to board the hayride, the weather took an unexpected turn and the rain began to fall. Trevor, being the gentlemen he is, noticed my shivers and took his coat off so I could warm up. We spent the next few hours waiting, talking, and laughing while we watched the spooky characaters go around scaring everyone. When it was finally our turn to go, the worst thing imaginable happened, the hayride came to an unexpected hault in the middle of the woods! Can you believe it? It's pouring rain, we're freezing our butts off, and I start to think this is how I'm going to meet my maker. It was as if our first date was written for a horror movie. Once the hayride picked back up, we were escorted to the haunted house. We had asked if we could come back and finish it, because mind you, it was now approaching 1am. They said no, so we proceeded through the haunted hosues. I told Trevor I hope there aren't any clowns, because I am terrified of them. Well the next stop was through a haunted funhouse, complete with clowns! Naturally, I reached back and grabbed Trevor's hand and continued at a fast pace through the haunted house looking frantically for the exit. Needless to know, I was not holding Trevor's hand. When I looked back in horror, I noticed the grave mistake I had made...I grabbed a spooky clowns hand, not Trevors! We spent the rest of the evening laughing hysterically at the fact that I grabbed a clowns hand and a female clown at that! On my drive back home, I couldn't stop smiling. I couldn't explain it, but I knew I would end up marrying this man. I spent the next day telling all my girlfriends, he's the one. I kept saying, "I'm going to marry him one day, just you wait and see." Of course, they all laughed at me, but as the story goes, the rest is history. So, believe your mom when she tells you that you will know they're the one when you feel it from day one. Here we are, two and half years later, saying I do in front of all of our favorite people. Some days, it still feels like I'm dreaming, but as the great Dr Suess once said, "You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams."
