We met years ago at Upper Straits Lake sandbar due to the infamous "boat story". Fast forward to 2017 when Jenny moved out to West Bloomfield. One Saturday, Jenny and her brother Todd decided to paddle board down to the sandbar. Deano was down there per usual and we ended up hanging out all day. The first music on the lake was the next weekend and we both ended up hanging out at the Oblak's. Al and Heather already suspected we were a "thing". Starting the next weekend Deano would pick up Jenny every weekend at the Kesler's dockside to head out to the sandbar and the rest is history.
We went on a family trip to Turks and Caicos in March of 2022. Jenny always thought Deano would pop the question there. On the plane ride down Deano’s phone went off and Jenny saw Justin’s text saying “did you pack the ring”. Luckily, Justin did not ruin the proposal as the ring was not in yet. A couple weeks later on April 12th, 2022, Jenny wanted to go visit her niece Keegan since she had gotten her tonsils out. Deano said we were bringing Nash (our new puppy) and Jenny refused. Deano had to quickly get Andrea to call Jenny to say Keegan wanted to see Nash. She said we could walk him down to the lake since their docks just got put in. We ended up walking down to the lake at sunset. Deano was walking Nash and Jenny was videoing Nash’s first walk down to the lake. As they got to the end of the dock Deano said “I think Nash swallowed a rock”, of course Jenny freaked out. It took her a minute to look at Deano who was now on one knee with the ring in hand. He asked a simple will you marry me and Jenny eagerly said yes. We then celebrated with Ryan and Andrea which of course involved tequila and high noon’s.
