Jenn and Alan met the “old-fashioned way” - at a bar in San Francisco. Jenn was experiencing her first true San Francisco nightlife experience when in came Alan with his hair slicked back and smile that could light up the room. One thing led to another and Jenn and Alan’s groups merged together. After talking for a bit, they realized that they shared a few mutual friends, and Alan suggested that they all meet up for lunch sometime (smooth). Jenn agreed, but when Alan asked her for her number, she gave him a fake number, because again, this was her first night out. Alan offered to call her right then and there so that Jenn could have his number (again, smooth). Jenn, embarrassingly, admitted that she had given the wrong number and gave him her cell. We like to think that fate would have brought us together one way or another, but we’re sure glad that we didn’t have to wait another day longer. The next day Alan texted her first thing in the morning, and the rest is history.

For their 2nd anniversary, Alan and Jenn went on their first Hawaii trip together to the beautiful island of Maui. Before their anniversary dinner, Alan asked Jenn to stop by Po’olenalena beach to watch the sunset. There, Alan surprised Jenn with a trail of petals that led into a hidden cove where he got down on one knee. Jenn doesn’t remember anything that was said (haha), but she does remember being incredibly overwhelmed with happiness and love for her Alan. After the proposal, Alan surprised Jenn a second time with a secret photographer that was hiding in the bushes and they enjoyed a romantic photoshoot under Maui's setting sun. Jenn and Alan has promised each other to visit Maui and Po’olenalena beach for their anniversary as often as they can. ❤️
