After living in the same town, riding the same bus, going to the same schools, and even attending prom with the same group of people, it took a fateful day of drinking on a boat to bring us together. In August 2015, hundreds of boats gathered around the Huntington Lighthouse for a fundraising event. After some gentle prodding by a family friend who had been trying to set us up all summer (looking at you Sue Lindley), I took the plunge and swam over to Joe's boat. Well, 4 years, 4 animals, and one house later, I think it's safe to say we hit it off. We're so excited to once again gather around a lighthouse and celebrate our story with everyone we love.
With our family and friends gathered at our house for a Christmas party, Joe declared that 2020 was going to be a great year...or at least he hoped it would be. After a brief pause to get the ring box out of his pocket, Joe was down on one knee asking me to marry him. Of course, I said yes. We can't wait to celebrate with all of you and hope you'll meet us in Montauk.
