We attended the same church for a few years and met through a mutual friend. Because we both lived an hour away from the church, we started attending the same weekly small group. We grew closer through our faith and found our personalities to be extremely compatible. We quickly found ourselves confessing our feelings to each other and realized we shared the same vision for the future. Since then, we've been working to make that vision into a reality together.
One day, I suggested to go boating in Central Park for a date. We waited in line for over 40 minutes to get on a boat. Once we got on, I led us to a secluded area where I pulled out the ring and asked her the most important question of my life. She was overwhelmed with joy and said yes immediately. Afterward, we went to celebrate with a nice omakase dinner in NYC. She had hoped that our friends were waiting for us at the restaurant but that was not the case. Little did she know that a surprise was waiting for her back at home. We returned back to our apartment elevator. Instead of our normal floor, I led us to the penthouse lounge where all of our friends surprised her (and me) with an engagement party!
