We met the old fashioned way.. on a dating app. Morgan was moving to DC and only knew one other person in the city so she and her Louisville friends set up a profile for her on a dating app. She had never been on a dating app before and Jeff was one of her first matches. We talked for 2 months on the app and over text until we could go on our first date in DC when Morgan finally moved after completing her masters. Our first date was a picnic on the National mall, in true DC fashion, we sat and talked for hours over charcuterie and champagne.

With Jeff's utter inability to keep secrets, planning a proposal sure was a feat to witness. Jeff had convinced Morgan that a proposal wasn't destined until the end of the year. With the army of help from friends and family, the ring had been purchased and the plan had been set: to propose at the DC War Memorial on the National Mall when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. It was a beautiful spring day full of excusable deception, budding pink flowers, and a resounding "yes". After all was said and done, friends and family gathered for brunch at one of Morgan and Jeff's favorite DC spots. Morgan will claim that she didn't know it was coming, but in the end it didn't matter to Jeff. He was simply happy to forever be with the girl he can't live without.
