We first met when we were 16 at Seaholm High School. What started as occasionally saying hi as we passed each other in the hallway quickly turned into hanging out more after one of Jake Badalamenti's infamous parties. We've been through it all together from countless trips to visit each other in college and starting our post-grad lives. Ultimately we just couldn't stay away from each other...fast forward 8 years and now we're getting married!

JD and I love trying new places to eat in downtown Detroit. I had mentioned I wanted to go to The Apparatus Room and JD made a reservation for a Monday night. We went downtown early to get drinks at Takoi and then headed over to dinner. At this point I had no idea what that night was really about. After dinner JD told me he had one more place in mind to get a drink. We started walking there and the darkest rain clouds I had seen in a while started rolling in. JD started acting weird and it seemed like we were heading away from all the restaurants. We made it to the riverfront and it started pouring. I didn't care at all that we were stuck out in the rain because at that point I began to realize what was happening. JD took me over to where a bouquet of flowers were lying in the grass. We were both drenched in rain and tears when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was the best moment of my life and to make it even better both our families were waiting at a restaurant nearby to congratulate us! - Molly I was a nervous wreck all day. I had planned a nice dinner in Detroit to serve as a warm up for the big moment. We had a great dinner and started walking to "the spot" after we had finished eating. As we were walking along the riverfront, the darkest rain clouds began to follow us. I started to speed up the walk and told Molly to hurry up! Right as we walked up to the spot, the rain came down in buckets. It didn't matter at all though, as I bent the knee and asked Molly to marry me. We were both so overwhelmed with emotion and joy! It truly was the best day of my life and the rain actually made it even more special. After the proposal, we met up with our families at another restaurant and celebrated the big day! -JD
