Our Story

We first met in the fall of 2014 at The Rock Box during an evening of karaoke. Funny enough there wasn’t much interaction between us although we definitely took notice of one another. It wouldn’t be until 3 years later that we would go on our first date. All the while ignoring signs from the universe that we were meant for each other. We would wind up at the same parties, ask our mutual friend, Greg, about one another, and we even matched on Tinder but didn’t make a connection. We finally made it happen at Greg and Sabrina’s wedding. Adam didn’t immediately recognize Jasmine since she had gone from short blonde hair to long brunette hair. His first thought was to introduce himself to the pretty girl in the aviators, and he did, only to be told “I know you” by Jasmine as she took her sunglasses off. Feeling as though he might have blown his chance, Adam quickly recovered and blamed the sunglasses for not recognizing her. After mingling all night Adam worked up the courage to ask Jasmine on a date while holding sparklers for the send off. It worked! With a bit of help from our friend Greg who gave Adam a five star review. It wasn’t your typical first date. We went out the very next day. Adam decided a dinner buffet followed by a hike to the beach would be a great way to kick things off. Even though there were plenty of ways all-you-can-eat seafood followed by exercise could have turned disastrous, the date went amazingly well.

.

From that point on we hung out every chance we got. Adam took days off from work and Jasmine took time away from writing her dissertation. We had to make the following weeks count because Jasmine was due to travel the world for three months in connection with her Master’s degree and archeology expeditions. We were inseparable! Over three weeks we fell head over heels for one another. Adam asked Jasmine to be his official girlfriend and met the parents after only two weeks. By the third week we had booked a cruise together. If that isn’t crazy enough the cruise was with half of Jasmine’s immediate and extended family. Also, it was set for after her 3 months of travel. Believing that our perfect three weeks couldn’t be tarnished by 3 months apart, we committed ourselves. At the end of the 3rd week Jasmine would leave to London. We both felt an incredible connection but neither of us had said the magical 3 words to one another. Right at the last moment as Jasmine was walking toward the airport she turned to Adam and said “I love you”. We shared a final embrace and then she left. We knew three months apart might put a strain on our newly formed relationship so we made it a point to FaceTime for an hour or two every single day. The months dragged on but we grew closer and closer. Jasmine eventually returned and we spent our first holiday season together followed by the cruise!

.

As the saying goes “when you know, you know.” And we knew. After 10 months Adam carefully planned the big moment where he would ask Jasmine to spend the rest of her life with him. He scoped out a spot at the top of a hike with Greg, picked out the perfect ring with help from Jasmine’s best friend Jen, and snuck over to Jasmine’s parents house to get their blessing for her hand in marriage. At the top of a hike on a bright sunny day contrasted with snow all around, Adam knelt down next to an alpine lake and asked Jasmine to marry him. She said yes without hesitation! We proceeded to celebrate after the hike with a quick trip to the spa and dinner at a fancy steakhouse. The celebration continued with a trip to Hawaii aka our “sugarmoon” as Jasmine calls it. There is so much more to our story and so much more to come. We are incredibly excited to share our biggest day with you all!
