We met at Summer's 19th Birthday Party in the heart of Highland! Our friend, Felicia, hosted a party and as Summer walked into the back room, she immediately noticed this kid that was totally out of place. His khaki cargo shorts and Tommy Bahama shirt were a dead giveaway that "this guy is different"! We quickly became the best of friends and even roommates for a short time. However, life happened and we went different directions in 2000. Summer headed to Houston and Jayson went to Panama City Beach. Way before social media, we lived very different lives. It took effort to maintain friendships that mattered. And we both cared about each other. That is what has brought us this far.
Our friendship was stronger than ever and Jayson was head over heels for Summer (he hates when I tell people that!). Suddenly, Summer decided to move back to Tulsa. There was no notice or time to talk about it. Summer was leaving. Jayson spent the next 2 months writing snail mail letters to Summer and our bond continued to grow. Mardi Gras was around the corner, so we made plans to drive down from Tulsa, pick up Jayson, and head to New Orleans. While everyone else was doing the typical parade stuff, Jayson took Summer to Lil' Jon's Pandemonium Party. It was the wildest, most whirlwind night. I knew this was the beginning of my next chapter and my heart was so full of love. I had no idea that it would end up being 20 years and I wouldn't change a single thing.
