While we'll be getting married on the zoo grounds, you can also explore the zoo itself! Home to more than 1,500 animals from 200 species, the zoo is not only impressive in its range, but it's also one of the country's oldest, dating back to 1876.
Our neighboring community of Hampden is one of our favorite places to hang out. Like Woodberry, where we live, it was originally built around the Jones Falls mills to provide homes for the millworkers. Some of our favorite places to eat here include Ekiben, Golden West Cafe, and Blue Pitt BBQ (our caterers!)
The Reginald F. Lewis Museum is an incredible resource for information and inspiration about the lives of African American Marylanders. As a student at UMD, Jayne's design cohort collaborated with students from Augusta Fells Savage Institute of Visual Arts on "Bmore than the Story," a 2017 exhibit at this museum about the Baltimore Uprising.
Located just a few blocks from Baltimore’s picturesque Inner Harbor, Little Italy holds its own as a cozy haven of Italian culture and delicacies. Jayne used to visit this neighborhood with her mom and Grandpa Sam to get authentic Cannoli cake from Vaccaro's!
We highly recommend this for guests with younger kids! Port discovery features hands-on experiences, interactive exhibits, and entertaining programs all designed to spark imaginations and help children and adults connect, discover, and learn through play.
Like many little boys, Will loved learning about trains, and unlike many little girls Jaynie loved learning about history! The perfect combination of both, the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum is an museum and historic railway station exhibiting historic railroad equipment.
