It all started in 7th grade history class, where Gunner and Jayden sat right next to each other. Gunner was known for being a shy kid, usually quiet as a mouse. Since he was so quiet, Jayden hardly noticed him at all. That was until she heard a rumor that Gunner had a huge crush on her. To test that theory, Jayden would go to history class every day without a pencil, just to have an excuse to talk to Gunner and ask for one. And every day for weeks, Gunner would give her a pencil, even if it meant he had to give up his only pencil to let her have one. Many borrowed pencils and small conversations later, Gunner finally worked up the nerve to ask for Jayden’s phone number! And after getting to know each other, the two young love birds started dating! And Jayden eventually let Gunner in on her sneaky pencil scheme, and returned each and every pencil back to him before the end of the school year! The rest is, well, history!

It was the first destination of their cruise. Jayden woke up early and was excited to get down to the beach. She threw on her swim suit and her beach hat and was ready to go, but Gunner (who likes to take his sweet time in the mornings) insisted that they get all dressed up to take some photos down by the water. Jayden was not having it, so they got off the boat and went to the lounge by the water. After lounging on the beach for a while, Gunner once again insisted they go get dolled up to take some photos. An annoyed Jayden reluctantly agreed. Full of complaints, she went back to their room and got ready. In a fit of frustration, she told Gunner “if I have to go through all this trouble for these silly photos, you better be pulling out a ring!” And oh would she be surprised! They got back down to the beach, where excited grandparents awaited to snap pictures of the moment they all knew was coming. Gunner led Jayden to the dock, overlooking the crystal clear waters and the beautiful palm trees on the shore. As they were about to pose for a picture. Gunner dropped to one knee and ask Jayden to marry him. Jayden stood there speechless for a minute, but overcome with joy, she said yes!
