Question

What is the dress code for the event? What is the dress code for the event?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding and reception is either American formal or Indian and/or Palestinian traditional. There are no restrictions on colors or designs, with the bride typically wearing red and gold.

Question

If I were interested in wearing Indian attire, where should I start? If I were interested in wearing Indian attire, where should I start?

Answer

While there is no obligation to purchase a new outfit for our wedding (Western dresses/suits are welcome!), we have had some friends express interest in purchasing traditional Indian attire. For women, we would recommend wearing a lehenga choli (cropped top with long skirt and sash). For men, we would recommend wearing either a sherwani or kurta-pyjama (long top, pants, and sash). We have listed some websites that friends and family have purchased from before. Please reach out if you have questions about measurements for Indian clothing (Youtube has some great videos to help with this). Some stores also may require measurements in centimeters rather than in inches, so always make sure to clarify and check.
