Allyson and Javier first met in August of 2018 in pediatrics clinic while both attending the Medical University of South Carolina. Javi was in his final (4th) year of medical school and Allyson was in her 3rd year. Javi used the convenient excuse of “helping with practice questions” to talk to Allyson. After a week of Allyson letting Javi think he was helping her but secretly already knowing the answers, he worked up to courage to ask her on a date. Fast forward 2 years, a few fishing trips, and many glasses of wine later, Javi found Allyson's palate and captaining skills irresistible. He proposed in September of 2020 on a sailboat in St. Augustine and have been dreaming about their future together ever since.
