Question

What are the travel requirements to Puerto Rico during these unprecedented times?

Answer

As of March 10, domestic travelers are not required to provide proof of vaccination or negative test prior to arriving on the island. For International travelers: Aligning with the CDC, international travelers must present a negative COVID test (either antigen or PCR) with 24 hours prior to departure, along with proof of vaccination. All international travelers must be fully vaccinated to enter the United States.

Question

Are there COVID restrictions at your wedding venue?

Answer

We are asking ALL guests and vendors who are attending our wedding to be fully vaccinated up to two weeks prior to April 17, 2022. We understand our request may leave you having to make a difficult decision, however we want to ensure that the health and safety is our top priority for all of our guests. Again, we appreciate your continued love and support. This has been, and remains, an extremely difficult time and we value all the empathy and grace you have given us as we do our best to celebrate in a way that doesn’t endanger the lives of those we love.

Question

Is a passport required to fly to Puerto Rico?

Answer

If you are a US citizen, you DO NOT need a passport to go to Puerto Rico. Since Puerto Rico is a US territory, all you need is the same identification you use to fly anywhere else in the country.

Question

Are businesses open and operating normally on the Island?

Answer

All hotels, restaurants and small businesses remain open for tourists with no capacity limits. Because our wedding is during Holy week, reservations are recommended for restaurants and other activities. Please note that individual establishments reserve the right to implement their own health and safety requirements. Guided tours are also open, however you should always call your tour guide/company to confirm any tour reservations.

Question

Do I need to know how to speak Spanish?

Answer

Spanish and English are both spoken on the island. You don’t need to know how to speak Spanish, and you can easily get by without it.

Question

What currency is used in Puerto Rico?

Answer

Because Puerto Rico is a commonwealth of United States, the island's currency is the US dollar. This makes spending money easy for US tourists and travelers, who will also have access to American banks and ATMs.

Question

Should you rent a car during your stay?

Answer

If you want to explore sites and towns outside of the San Juan area, then renting a car would be a good idea. All US car rentals have a presence in the island, along with taxi companies that are available from 5AM to 12AM. Another alternative is to book an excursion or day tour with some of the touring companies offered on the island. It would be best to connect with tour operators directly for additional information about their operation status and specific protocols.

Question

What is the weather like in Puerto Rico?

Answer

Warm, tropical weather! Year round temperatures average in the mid 80s for a high and mid 70s for a low.
