We’re getting married!

It seems these days that newly engaged couples are so hyper focused on their wedding and the aesthetics and blah blah blah, that they forget what a wedding really is… a giant party. We decided that we want our wedding to yes, be our “big special day”, but also a chance to see and celebrate with all of our friends that are scattered across the country. We have chosen to provide cabins for everyone on-site at Deer Lake Cabins Ranch Resort, as a way to have everyone we love close together for a safe and enjoyable adults only weekend. For those of you I have not met yet, hi I’m Jasmine :) I grew up in Rochester, NY and spent my days listening to Lana Del Ray and angstily being in The Closet. I went to college in Buffalo, NY to be a dentist… well school is fucking hard and I had wildly unchecked ADHD running rampant on my brain not making things any better lol. **Enter the Army** I joined the Army in 2017 initially as a Petroleum Supply Specialist, but that enlisted life is TUFF. Therefore, I commissioned once I finished my degree in Biology. Currently I’m an engineer officer- BUT ENOUGH ARMY. I like to paint, draw, write, and read. Lord knows all the crafts that ended up in “craft purgatory” as Mikaila calls it… I dabble in a lot of things- and yes, I’m now saying “dabble” because I have learned my lesson the hard way of what happens when I am overly confident in my abilities with “dabbling hobbies”. You can ask Rita or Mikaila about the Utah Ski trip lol. We currently have three cats, one of which I brought with me into this relationship. I hate doing laundry but I wipe down the stove and do the kitty litter so it’s shakes out in the end. That’s me in a nutshell and I hope to see you at our wedding!

I’m Mikaila:) I grew up in Michigan with a 3-year jaunt in Sweden. I went to WestPoint where I majored in Civil Engineer and getting punched in the face (I was on the boxing team). I love roads, bridges, and pre-stressed concrete T-beams. I spent my first duty station in Hawai’i which was amazing, but the Army Gods then reasserted balance and sent me to Fort Polk, Louisiana. Things work out in the end though, because I met Jasmine and got my DD214. Currently, I am having a BLAST in an automotive program and am currently restoring a 1989 F-150 named Bo who is easing my heartache over selling my 1978 F-250, Charlie. I love reading, skiing, cooking, gardening and baking, and any activity that is outdoors.
