Their love story began at Parkland College. Ishmael and Jasmine both were taking Com 101 and sat next to each other every class. They exchanged numbers for a homecoming event that lead to a everlasting friendship. With occasionally texting throughout the years they eventually lost contact with each other. August of 2014 Ishmael found Jasmine again and never let her go. On June 30th, 2018 at a birthday celebration for Jasmine, Ishmael asked her for her hand in marriage.

For my 28th birthday, I planned a sip and paint event with family and friends. Ishmael asked me to stand up front because he wanted everybody to paint a photo of me. He asked me to close my eyes so he can show me his first. When I opened my eyes, there he was on one knee with a canvas that said “I Love You Will You Marry Me”.
