We can’t seem to agree on when we met exactly, but it was sometime around 2013 while we both attended Scottsdale Community College’s film school. We shared many screenwriting classes together but were only friends in passing with the occasional social media “like” on posts. It wasn’t until years later in 2018 that Connor started an actual conversation which led to us going on our first date at the Wandering Tortoise. From then on, we were inseparable!
One would have thought it was an ordinary day, doing what we often do on our joint days off: going for pedicures, having a nice lunch, and enjoying a nice sunset walk at the lake. However, I know Connor too well, and could tell something was up his sleeve. The lake we drove to was announced as closed, and we were turned away. Connor was very upset, and I had an inkling why, so I suggested another one of our favorite sunset spots near home called Briscoe Park. It was the perfect time of year when the park's fountain was running, the pink flowers were fully bloomed, and we were sitting at the park's gazebo which was my favorite spot. Although it wasn't as Connor originally planned, it was going just as well. He was just about to pull the ring box from his pocket, when a homeless man interrupted. After a while of walking around the lake and finding a more private spot, Connor confessed his love and popped the question!
