A God Orchestrated Love

First comes school, then comes marriage.

Jasmine contemplated on attending a Youth Leadership Summit in Dallas, TX. Initially, she was not very enthused, because she was more interested in visiting the Dallas Theological Seminary, where she had applied and received acceptance to attend in the fall. After listening to wise counsel and complying with the prompting of the Lord, she went. There she met Lauren Sanders, who was a great friend to her future husband, unbeknownst to her. At that time, Micah was going through an extensive process for ordination. God graced Micah to pass all of His exams and was ordained. Now, he was just waiting for God to send his wife to him. In the meantime, he was contemplating seminary options, one of which was Dallas Theological Seminary, where he had not yet completed his application. During this time, Lauren mentioned to Micah about a young lady she met at Calibrate named Jasmine Beaufort, who she characterized, “the prettiest, best dressed girl at the sneaker ball”. He viewed her social media and needless to say, he was in awe of her incredible beauty, but equally intrigued by her desire to go to seminary since that was one of his longtime aspirations and goals. Afterwards, he persisted with Lauren that she should reach out to Jasmine to express that one of her friends was interested in the same seminary and wanted more information on the decision-making process. She consented and gave Micah Jasmine's number. Micah called Jasmine, for what he thought would only be an hour conversation at maximum, but swiftly turned into a 7-hour conversation. Jasmine and Micah conversed on nearly every subject, but all of their passions and convictions were conveyed as well as discussed during that lengthy dialogue. Unsuspectingly, their communication that night ended with them both privately pondering if this was the spouse that God had designated and preserved for each other. Micah knew that day that Jasmine was special and that she possessed everything he desired in a wife. Jasmine was amazed that Micah was so passionate about ministry, pleasing God, and seminary, coupled with being a fine young man after God’s own heart. As a result of their mutual interest, they continued to talk daily for long, extended periods of time. This season forged a deep, closely knitted friendship that would serve as an essential component in the foundation of their future relationship. God deliberately used their physical distance to draw their hearts closer and unite them in His Agape love. Now after several weeks of conversing with Jasmine, Micah intentionally made the proper assessment that he needed to meet Jasmine in person. Immediately after their first official date, he decided to ask her to be exclusively his girlfriend. Jasmine obliged Micah without reservation and this was the beginning of a beautiful, intentional courtship. After divine assurance, Micah articulated to Jasmine that he desired to further his ministerial pursuits at Dallas Theological Seminary. In the Fall, both residing in Dallas, Texas, they began their seminary journey together. Jasmine started the Master of Arts in Christian Leadership and Micah started the Master of Theology. Over their course of studies, trials, challenges and unexpected adversities came their way, yet their unwavering love and faith in God and each other deepened rapidly and intensified. Through all of their first semester hardships, they knew that God had authentically and uniquely connected them for life, ministry and love. They both were steadfastly, confidently assured that they were meant to be together. Hence, Micah surprised Jasmine with an unexpected and unique engagement on the seminary campus which cemented their love. He stated, “Out of all the gifts God could give me, you are the greatest gift I could ever receive. Will you marry me?” Jasmine gladly accepted his proposal! The couple decided to wed privately and begin a new year of adventure together united in God’s love.
