It all began at a Diwali Party in 2014, at a college that neither of them actually attended--Good old Stony Brook University! Jesse was visiting friends, and Shivani came along with her cousin to the party. Although Shivani didn't know many people at this party she did run into a friend that she use to dance with on a dance team in college, who happened to also be friends with Jesse. Turns out Shivani had caught Jesses eye and he began asking their mutual friend about her. The dance floor had opened up and everyone hit the floor! Shivani was dancing with her cousin and Jesse made sure he was in the same vicinity but didn't say a word to Shivani at this point. The party was coming to an end, and the mutual friend invited Shivani and her cousin back to a dorm after party. Considering it an innocent invite, Shivani agreed. Little did she know, it was Jesse that told the mutual friend to invite them so he could speak to her. Their mutual friend brought them to the party and then conveniently disappeared!. This is where Jesse made his first move and sparked up a conversation with her. Turns out that they had a few things in common as they were both pursuing a career in nursing. They began talking about their likes and dislikes and Shivani even beat him in a game of beer pong! (Which Jesse claims that he let her win). The time was approaching where Shivani and her cousin had to go home, and being the gentlemen that Jesse was, he offered to walk them to their car. Before they parted ways Jesse asked her for her number and she agreed. The night went by, and so did majority of the next day and Shivani had yet to receive a call or text from Jesse. Being the impatient girl that she is, Shivani made the bold move of texting him first (Which he still reminds her to this day!). They continued to text back and forth daily which eventually led to facetime calls and then their first date at P.F Changs. Eight years and a beautiful proposal trip to Greece later--Shivani and Jesse are now engaged to be married <3
