Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal. Ladies should wear dresses and men should wear a suit or sports coat. Our ceremony will take place on grass and our reception will be mostly outside on a covered patio & porch, with grassy and gravel areas. Therefore, you may want to leave your stilettos at home!

Question

Will the ceremony & reception be indoors/outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be outside (unless rain forces us indoors) and the reception will mostly be outdoors on a covered patio/porch, but there is a house on site that is accessible for all.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

The ceremony venue is on the Stono River and the reception venue has a pond without fencing. In addition, the venue has an upstairs porch that does not allow children due to liability. Due to the venues restrictions, we ask that you try to make separate arrangements for kids the night of the wedding.

Question

Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair/handicapped accessible?

Answer

The ceremony will take place in the grass overlooking the water. The reception is wheelchair and handicapped accessible. There is a large handicapped accessible bathroom under the house and also a ramp on the side of the house. Parking will be in grass and there is a gravel driveway.

Question

Will there be any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special diet options?

Answer

Our dinner will be served in stations. It will include a mac and cheese station, collard greens, and waffles available that are vegetarian. Other choices include chicken and waffles and a prime rib station. Late night snack will be bite sized pizzas.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by February 23rd, 2024.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is parking at Old Wide Awake Park where our ceremony will take place and there is parking up the road at Old Wide Awake where our reception will take place. These are both gravel/grass parking lots.

Question

Is Old Wide Awake Park the same as Serenity Park?

Answer

Old Wide Awake Park was renamed to Serenity Park in 2023. The name on google still states Old Wide Awake Park, but there is potential that signs will change at the entrance or the name could update on google by the time of the wedding.

Question

Will there be transportation?

Answer

Transportation will be provided for immediate family, the bridal party and their dates. If you plan on consuming alcohol the night of we highly recommend planning transportation in advance, as Ubers/Lyfts are difficult to come by in the area of the venue. Cars are welcome to stay overnight at the venue, but it is required that all cars be picked up by 12PM on March 31st. Transportation for family and the bridal party will leave the venue at approximately 10:30PM and will drop off at the Courtyard by Marriott Charleston Waterfront hotel.
