Thomas and I met in 2013 where Keimon and Jace attended the same daycare. Through birthday parties, daycare events and play dates, we created a friendship. We stayed in loose contact after our kids went off to elementary school while slowly forming an attraction for one another. Over the years we maintained a very consistent on and off dating cycle that grew into an inescapable love. In early 2020, after much discussion and prayer (not driven by the pandemic), we made the decision to commit to a solid relationship and let love persevere.

It was our last night in Ocho Rios, Jamaica in celebration of Thomas' 40th birthday. I had one more surprise for Thomas to commemorate our week, a private candlelit dinner overlooking the beach while our very own saxophonist serenaded us with melodies of soft jazz. Meticulously calculated as the finale to our perfect week - or so I thought! As we were finishing up, I wanted to surprise Thomas with a video compilation I put together of his family and friends wishing him a "Happy Birthday". Due to the location on beach, I had absolutely no Wi-Fi so after about five minutes of unsuccessfully trying to get the video to work, the mood became incredibly awkward. Thomas pleasantly interrupted and told me he invited my two best friends and Jace to join him on a video call. It was then that Thomas got down on one knee, presented a ring and asked me to marry him! And with no hesitation, I said YES!
