How We Met

11-11-2011

Each of us growing up in small towns right next to each other, we knew of one another but never took the time during our school days to get to really know each other. Once out of high school we began to hang out with similar groups of friends. This group of friends decided that it would be a good idea to have a group of 7 different people move in together. It all started in the Argyle house. He was living upstairs and I was downstairs with one of my girlfriends. As time went on, we decided that we really liked each other and as time would have it we eventually just moved our stuff in together. We have since moved in with many other roommates and at different houses, but one thing has always stayed constant...us!!!

The Proposal

10-10-2019

We made a long awaited trip to Banff, Canada for 10 days to go hiking and camping at the beginning of October, 2019. We have been on many trips together before where I was thinking that he would "pop the question" but it never happened. I was trying to not get my hopes up and knew that we would be in close quarters. He is not a very sneaky guy and I thought that I would have noticed an inkling that it would happen on our Canada trip, but no...nothing. The trip was running smoothly and little to my knowledge, Seth had already had the day planned to a T. But then a winter storm blew in and we were forced to get a hotel some of the nights. This threw our trip off course and him in a worry frenzy. Once the storm was over, we resumed our trip as planned and hiked one of our most exciting hikes that we planned for. Because of the storm and being the beginning of winter season, many of the shuttle buses were not running at the time so we were forced to hike 7 miles to the beginning of the trail head. This is the part where Seth will tell you that I was walking wayyy too slow for how excited he was to get to the top. Once we arrived at Lake Mary we sat down to eat a packed lunch and saw a nice dock at the edge of the lake. Throughout our entire trip, he was in charge of the camera and setting it up for pictures. I thought his routine would be the same but once posed and ready for the picture, Seth turned to me and said, "this one's going to be different", he proceeded to get down on one knee and finally (after almost 8 years) proposed. I cried like a baby and nearly dropped to my knees myself. I couldn't and still to this day cannot say "YES" enough!!!
