Jamie and Philip met in January 2013. They worked at MarineMax near Longboat Key for a short time together. The moment they met, there was intense chemistry that they both tried to ignore. Jamie worked at the front desk assisting customers, and Philip worked outside detailing and fueling up the boats. They frequently would have to communicate over the radio, and he would stop by her desk to chat about the day. Philip would ask her to eat lunch with him on the seawall down the road at the park where they would laugh and talk about life. They soon became friends. Eventually, Jamie left MarineMax to pursue other things, but Jamie and Philip remained friends over the next few years. One day, they lost touch and didn't speak for two years, until she ran into him at the gym after her past divorce. Philip was determined to finally take Jamie on a date now that they were both single. Jamie thought Philip would NEVER settle down, so she didn't want to get involved. After much convincing from Philip, they gave a relationship a try, and they are both still filled with uncontrollable butterflies to this day. Philip always told Jamie "I always said I would never get married, BUT I would marry you". Jamie didn't take him seriously, and never thought he would settle down. After 8 months of a long distance relationship, they fell deeper in love than ever before. They've hit rock bottom together and built their lives back up to start fresh again. They now know that their love can survive anything. And they are excited to begin their new life together.
