We met at Aurora University's AU4U event for incoming freshman students. We were there to learn about the university and peers that were in our classes. We got introduced by mutual friends in Crimi Auditorium. This is where our friendship began and we honestly got to be very close as the years went on. I am thankful for my years at AU and all the memories the university holds for us. I am so glad that is where we first met.

We were really great best friends for several years but we could feel we were getting closer as we got older. We finally had a long conversation and admitted our feelings for one another. Leading to our first date of dinner and a scary movie, IT Chapter 1. He even went on that night to ask me to be his girlfriend which I happily said yes.

On a Saturday afternoon we were out shopping Aurora IL at the Fox Valley Mall. Little did I know he had been planning on whisking me away to visit Aurora University where we had first met years ago. He finally convinced me that we needed to go take a walk around the university and see what changes had been made since we had been there. I was worried about getting cold but I finally agreed to go walk around the campus. We took a long walk around the perimeter of the campus and I would stop and bring up memories of different buildings and experiences we shared there. Once we got to the Institute of Collaboration building, I sensed something was up. He disappeared and told me he would be right back. I wandered around looking at old classrooms I used to have lectures in and other various rooms. He then returned and pulled me to a couch nearby Crimi Auditorium, where we had originally first met at AU4U, an event held for incoming freshman students. He then got down on one knee and popped the question! Of course I said "YES!" followed by happy tears and tight hugs. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
