After introducing ourselves to each other online, we took the next step and decided to meet in person. However, just after returning from a girls trip, Jamie came down with COVID and had to cancel plans. After 5 days of quarantine and a week of work, Jamie and her friend Amanda started to drive the 2.5 hours to Gettysburg. The girls drove to his house and were surprised to not only meet Colten but two of his friends, brother-in-law and dad as well. Conversations varied around topics, but after some time the girls had to go back home. We hugged goodbye and later that evening planned to see each other again.

On November 19th, what was a chilly day the farm had plans to sort and ween calves. We woke up early and went straight to work. Around lunch time we all headed in to get warm and fill up. Alyson and Bridget, Colten’s sisters and their families joined for homemade pizza. Alyson asked me(Jamie) to help give the baby a bath… little did I know it was a trick to get me away from the room. While I was talking to Dayton, Bridget got her two kids ready. After I walked out, everyone was everywhere but the kids were on the couch including Dayton. Bridget had her phone ready and I assumed they were taking a ‘Dayton’s 1st Thanksgiving’ photo. Only the sign the Logan was holding beside his sister and the baby was flipped around and read, ‘will you be our auntie?’ I read the sign and heard a movement behind me . I turned around to find Colten on a knee with his Grandma Zoellner’s ring. He barley got out the words, ‘will you marry me?’ Of course my answer was YES!
