The wedding will take place, as planned, on November 2nd and allows those of us who love them to come together in community. The Farm (the wedding venue) is supplied by well water and has power, so they are able to host this celebration! Though it may not seem like the ideal time to visit Asheville, the show of community support we are experiencing here reflects the spirit in which we will gather together on November 2nd. Our airport is up and running, but it is too soon to tell how tourist activities in and around Asheville will be impacted in November. Your visit here may look differently than you imagined – particularly if you planned to extend your trip to enjoy some sightseeing. If you need to change your plans, there is still time to edit your RSVP. If you opt to make changes, please do so by October 17th. Further, many hotels and airbnb/vrbo rentals may no longer accommodate travelers due to the water situation. If you have reserved a hotel room or an airbnb/vrbo and they have not reached out to you yet, please verify with them that they have both power and water. While an inconvenience, we recommend contacting your lodging to determine if they will be able to house you. If not, we have a list of other properties that may be able to take your reservation under the "Travel" tab of this website. Please secure your lodging as soon as you can to ensure you have a place to stay. We know this is an extra step on your part, and we are so grateful for your willingness to be in attendance! Karen and Ken are, as ever, supportive partners, and they will soon have information regarding the Welcome Party slated for November 1st. One thing we do know is that the love Sarah Jane and James have for each other can withstand any storm. Marriages and hurricanes require flexibility, and there will be no better time to come together to show these two we are all part of their joyful journey. We are incredibly excited to celebrate this couple with you!
The dress code is Fall Festive. Here's a link that might be helpful! https://www.brides.com/festive-wedding-guest-attire-6361569 We're encouraging our guests to wear sensible shoes--the ground at The Farm can be uneven, and we want everyone to be comfortable enough to dance the night away, too!
Early November can be chilly in the mountains, with historical averages in the 33-58 degrees range. Be sure to keep checking the weather as the date gets closer!
You can see our registry on this website! Some items are purchasable through Zola, others through Target, and a few through Etsy. Just click on the item, and it will take you where you need to go. We have registered our dinnerware through FiestaWare. The link to that registry is on our Registry page, as well!
Due to the capacity of our venue, we ask that only those named on the invitations attend! Thank you for understanding.
We strongly recommend booking a car service in advance. Due to the location of the venue, pickup transportation can be difficult if not pre-booked. Locals find great success with these services: AVL Ride (https://www.avltaxi.com/) and Asheville Hopper (https://avlhopper.com/). If you have a rental car, there will be ample parking at the venue, too! As always, carpooling and sharing rides is a great idea! To help you with timing, we expect the reception to conclude by 10p. You are welcome to use Uber and Lyft, but the venue has reported difficulty with those services in the past. We recommend the Asheville-specific services listed above as your first choice! If you need extra help upon arrival, please email reddingbells@sjljdr.com – we’d love to provide you with information so you can easily navigate and park at The Farm.
Due to our venue’s policy, smoking of any kind on the premises is prohibited.
