1. James didn't want to spend a boat load of money on a one day event. 2. Melissa wanted a small intimate ceremony. 3. We'd rather hang out with everyone in Colorado than at a formal wedding where we only get to talk to you for 30 seconds at a time.
Picture your perfect honeymoon: Are you sipping Mai Thais on a secluded beach in the Caribbean? Maybe you're basking in the Tahitian sun on the deck of your private overwater bungalow? Or perhaps you're at a vineyard in Napa, overlooking the vines, glass of Merlot in hand? Now picture yourself surrounded by a group of friends....who are with you...on your honeymoon..that's what you call a buddymoon!
Melissa and I will be in Crested Butte from May 23rd to the 28th. You are welcome to show up at anytime during those dates, but we it will be more advantageous to stay during Memorial day weekend as people will most likely have that Monday off, and our reception dinner will be the evening of the 25th.
It's up to you! But seriously, we're hoping we can spend time with everyone hiking, biking, fishing, or grabbing a coffee in town. This can be just as much a vacation for you as it will be for us. We will put together suggestions of things to do while there. The only scheduled event is the dinner party Saturday night.
Well speaking for ourselves, we will be driving there from Austin, as we want to do some jeeping in CB. Other options are to fly in to Denver, Gunnison, or Grand Junction airport and rent a car. It's a scenic few hours drive through the mountains from the airport.
We completely understand if you can't make it to Crested Butte. We are always looking for a good excuse to travel so we thought this would be a great way to celebrate our nuptials with family and friends, but we totally get it if the timing isn't right for you and your family.
