Marlee and the Boykin sisters had grown up playing softball together. When the time came to venture off to a college in the great wide somewhere, the beauty said au revoir to the sport of her childhood and decided to pursue a new path in theatre. The Boykins’ eldest child and only son just so happened to already attend the school to which the beauty was off to. Therefore, they decided the two should meet. Marlee went to the university’s spring musical (which also happened to be the first she had ever seen) with the family months later. Prince James walked onto the stage, and Marlee knew immediately who he was (or who he’d become). The beauty fell in love at first sight, and the fairytale began.
Seven years and many turns later, James invited Marlee back to same stage where they had met. The lights onstage illuminated numerous pictures that had been hung up for all to see. It was the greatest story they knew. A friend played their song on his guitar before them. It was the one they first danced to together. Both of their families emerged from either side of the stage, some with smiles and few with happy tears. James knelt to one knee, something the beauty had only dreamt about for almost a decade. Many said they were too different. Some had once even called him a beast. So many storms tried to keep the two apart, but Marlee always came back. Time seemed to be an enemy, but in the end its patience lifted a curse. A Tale as Old as Time. The beauty did not have to hesitate to say yes, for she had always known James would become the prince meant for her.
