Chautauqua Park- Sunrise-11pm If you are looking for a local hiking area, this is the place! Chautauqua is nestled up to Boulder’s Iconic Flatirons. There are many hiking trails to choose from depending on skill and experience level. The park is also home to one of the country’s “Chautauquas” which was a late 19th century movement to bring culture and education to rural areas of the United States. After your hike, grab lunch at Chautauqua Dining Hall for a step back in time.
If you are looking to get out of town and into the mountains, a quick 25 minute drive up the canyon will land you in the quirky mountain town of Nederland, CO. If you are looking for something adventurous, a hike in Indian Peaks Wilderness is what you should do. Hopefully you will get to “peep” some of Colorado’s golden aspen trees if the timing is right. Just along for the drive? Check out Cross Cut Pizza for the best pizza ever and a cold Colorado craft beer!
Want to shop? Pearl Street Mall is where you should go to explore local shops and restaurants that run the length of Pearl Street which is the hub of downtown Boulder. The concentration of shopping and restaurants starts at about 17th street and continues West (towards the mountains!) until you reach 9th street.
Lucky for you if you are staying at The Boulder Marriott, this legendary Boulder brunch spot is in your backyard! Expect a wait on the weekend but, it’s worth it for their food and .99 cent brunch cocktails... maybe do this one the day after the wedding.... :)
Highly recommend this food hall for larger groups that are looking for a diverse selection of bites! Did we mention it has a rooftop?? Did you know the afternoon weather here is usually gorgeous in warm into late September?
