Although we technically met in 2015 during Sunday night mass at the Moravian College chapel, we did not start our friendship until December 2016. Jake made the first move, reaching out one night at a Lehigh Valley Phantoms hockey game. We met up at intermission and Jake said he was staying on Moravian campus during winter break. That quick encounter lead to a questionably legal adventure climbing to the top of South Mountain to see the Bethlehem star up close (shout out to Emily Krail for facilitating some light trespassing and matchmaking). That night started a friendship which lead to a strong connection. Michaella shared the Spitalieri family Christmas cookies. Jake called every night after his shift. Michaella made Jake an avid Philadelphia sports fan. Jake taught Michaella the beauty of pork roll (not Taylor ham) on New Jersey bagels. Both nursing majors, we bonded over our desire to help others and not lose it at the end of a long shift. We found common ground in our dedication to family and friends, and have spent the last six years building a bond we can now call true love. We're so excited to share it with you.
