In 2018, we both moved to Chicago after graduating from college. After a few months of adjusting to “adult” life, we finally met through mutual friends at a bar! Jake thought Emily was really cute and tried talking to her all night. Over the next few months, Emily and Jake would continue to see each other at friends apartments. Jake would always try to talk to Emily, and eventually, Jake’s humor and kindness won Emily over. We rang in 2019 together with friends where we had our first kiss at midnight. The rest is history!

Emily and Jake went on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Europe after Jake finished medical school. Their first stop was in Switzerland, where Jake knew he wanted to propose in the small village of Lauterbrunnen. While the couple is well-known for having a loose itinerary on their trips, Jake was insistent on taking the train up into the Swiss Alps, and going on a light walk down a hidden trail. Once overlooking the valley, Jake dropped to one knee and asked the easiest question of his life. Emily thankfully said “YES”! The two got to spend the rest of their trip as an engaged couple, stopping in Munich, Budapest, and Prague, before heading home to Chicago for a surprise celebration with their family. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Vegas!
