Why did you change the date and venue of your wedding?

Answer

Our original wedding venue, The Haley Mansion, caught on fire on Feb. 2. We thought hard about our decision and felt it was best to move forward with another venue. Meyer’s Castle did not have Sept. 22nd available, but did have the 29th. We hope you’re still able to celebrate with us on our special day! Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will be at Meyer’s Castle. The ceremony will be outside (weather permitting) with cocktail hour and reception taking place inside. You will have access to an outdoor patio from the reception hall. The address for Meyer’s Castle is 1370 Joliet St. Dyer, Indiana 46311.

What can I expect after the ceremony?

Answer

Cocktail hour will begin immediately following the ceremony. Please enjoy hors d'oeuvres and cocktails in the speakeasy lounge.

Will food and drinks be served at the reception?

Answer

Cocktails and passed hors d'oeuvres will be served immediately following the ceremony. During the reception, a plated dinner be served along with a sweet table and a late night snack! Be sure to let us know if you have any dietary restrictions so we can accommodate you!

Does the venue have parking?

Answer

Yes, the venue has free parking. Once parked, a shuttle will bring you to the top of hill to the castle. This shuttle will be available all day. If you require special assistance, please let us know so we can accommodate you.

Will transportation be available?

Answer

For guest staying overnight, a shuttle will be available from the hotel to the venue. Uber is also an option.

What is the dress code?

Check- in is 3:00pm and check-out is 11:00am.

While we love your little ones, our wedding is an adult-only (18+) event. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time so you can celebrate with us!

Can I take pictures?

Answer

Our ceremony will be unplugged. We kindly ask you to NOT take photos during the ceremony. We have hired a photographer and videographer to capture the beautiful moment. Please take as many photos as you would like after the ceremony.

Can I post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures to their social media channels. Our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #EmGotEastoned so we can keep track of all of your pictures!

How do I RSVP?

Answer

The RSVP instructions will be listed on the invitation. Please return your already stamped postcard response to the bride and groom. They MUST be in our hands by August 25.

What should I do if I can’t make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!

What weather should I expect?

Answer

Weather in Chicagoland can be unpredictable. However, the average temperature in late September is a high of 75 °F and low of 54 °F. We suggest coming prepared with a sweater or light jacket since the ceremony will be held outside.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes, we will have an open bar. The drinks are on us, the hangover is on you!

Are there designated smoking areas?

Answer

The venue requests that you only smoke in approved smoking areas outside of the venue. Please do not leave cigarette butts on the ground, as the squirrels will get at them and the venue has gone through great lengths to get them to stop smoking.
