Can’t wait to celebrate!

Jaime and Matt met on the college Cross Country team at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2014. Jaime's first season on the team was a whirlwind of excitement as she adjusted to the rigors of college running and got to know her new teammates. During long indoor track meets with 4+ hour bus rides, Jaime and Matt got to know one another. Matt realized he was interested in Jaime quite early on - but instead of being direct and straightforward with his interests, he crafted an elaborate plan to spend more time with Jaime during team movie nights his dorm hosted and circulated a rumor on the girls team that he had a crush on her. His efforts ultimately proved triumphant and they began dating that summer of 2015. Jaime and Matt continued dating throughout college, running together on Mondays (only if it was at "Matt's pace"), spending hours doing homework in the Union together, and enjoying Moe's Mondays and dining hall dinners with their team. Matt encouraged Jaime to try new things (including pizza and coffee) and they constantly served as each others cheerleaders on the sidelines at track meets. After college, Jaime relocated to Massachusetts where she and Matt ultimately purchased a house together in Fall of 2019. Within the next year, they became coworkers and teammates once again. They both began working together at Raytheon as well as joined the Battle Road Track Club where they continue to share their passion for running. In 2020, they welcomed two new members to their family when they adopted two sister cats - Stella (a beautiful black cat who loves to wrestle her sister and open cabinets looking for treats) and Luna (a dilute tortoise shell cat who loves nothing more than snuggling and playing with string). In the Fall of 2021, Jaime decided to race her first marathon. Matt acted as her coach and running support as she trained for the race, helping her increase her running mileage and develop a strong training plan. Using the marathon as a ploy to get her parents to visit, Matt crafted the ultimate plan to pop the question post-race at Independence Park, their favorite park in Beverly, surrounded by their loved ones. Over the years they have enjoyed traveling, running, relaxing by the water, cooking, and fixing up their home together.
