We met when Jacques first came to Yale from Geneva and was setting up his dating profile in the U.S. He found that if you had a dog in your dating profile photos there was a better likelihood you would get attention. I had just gotten a puppy about a week before we met and my roommate thought it would be fun to bring Jacques over for a puppy/dating profile photoshoot. I remember all three of us chatting and playing with the puppy for about two hours before he went home without having taken any photos. A week later he got my phone number from my roommate and the rest is history. Gigi (our dog) is, and always has been, our most enthusiastic relationship cheerleader!

I wanted to surprise Katie with an Easter egg hunt in one of our favorite parks. Brooksvale Park rescues bunnies and other farm animals and we've enjoyed walking around the forest and grounds. In Alsace we have a tradition of creating easter nests out of moss, branches, and flowers, so while Katie was distracted hunting for eggs, I made a nest for the special ring egg which she managed to find last. I went down on one knee and she said YES!
