We met in June 2012. A mutual friend of ours, decided to set us up on a blind date. At first, we both were a little apprehensive about blind dates, since neither of us have ever been on one. But all that changed when we met for the first time at Macaroni Grill. Our conversations were intriguing and flowed effortlessly. We talked and laughed for hours and lost track of time. Next thing we knew, the restaurant was closing for the night and our date had come to an end. But we knew it was the start of a life long love story. And ever since then, we have been inseperable.
What I thought was supposed to be a weekend getaway to Santa Barbara ended up being more. Little did I know, Shine was going to propose to me on that trip. The first evening in Santa Barbara, we both decided to go to dinner. Once dinner was over, we went back to our hotel. Shine immediately walked to her laptop and asked me to watch a video. I sat next to her, and once I saw that she was the freeze frame, it did confuse me. However, it all made sense after she pressed play. It was a recording of her asking me to marry her. Even though she recorded herself, it was still intimate, meaningful and sweet. After the video, she brought me a white cake box which happened to be my favorite swedish princess cake. It said, “Will you marry me” written on it. I immediately said, “Yes!” After that we were engaged, and we could not be more excited about this next chapter in our lives! We cannot wait to celebrate with you! We hope to see you in Hawaii!
