The Underwood Estate is a stunning private property in Chatham, MA, nestled on 7-acres of Cape Cod's beautiful coastline. Surrounded by lush greenery and serene water views, the property provides the perfect setting for our coastal backyard wedding.

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code for the wedding is black-tie optional. Please join us in your most elegant attire for this special occasion. Ladies are invited to wear full-length formal gowns, and gentlemen should arrive in their sharpest suit or tuxedo. The celebrations will take place on grass so ladies, please keep this in mind when choosing the proper shoe!

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The wedding will take place outdoors. The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place in the yard of the property, and the reception will take place underneath a tent on the property.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Late summer on Cape Cod is our favorite. The weather is usually beautiful, with daytime temperatures ranging from the mid-60s to low 70s, and evenings cooling off as the season shifts towards autumn. To ensure comfort, we suggest bringing a light layer for the evening if needed.

Are children invited?

Answer

While we love all of the little ones in our lives, our celebration will be for adults only. We hope this gives all of our guests who are parents the opportunity to relax and unwind. We so appreciate your understanding. For those traveling with children, we recommend Summer Sitters, a trusted babysitting service Jacquie worked at herself during her summers on the Cape. Answer

There is limited parking available on the property, and street parking is available along Bridge Street.

Do you have a preference for unplugged (phone-free) ceremonies?

Answer

Yes. We kindly ask that you refrain from using your phone for photos and/or videos during our ceremony. We’ve hired talented professionals to capture the moment, and we’ll be sure to share the photos with you as soon as we receive them. After the ceremony, feel free to take all the photos and videos you’d like!
