An Update on the Suppes-Zemanek Wedding [02/11/25]

After our busy December and eventful January, the newly-married Suppes' have begun to settle in to life together in Georgia! Jacob has begun his Army career at Fort Eisenhower and Katie has begun commuting to her new office as well. After much searching, we have found and moved into a new house, slowly making it feel more like home. It has been quite the busy past two months, but thanks to God it has all worked out wonderfully. Now that things are a little more stable, we are turning our attention back to planning the upcoming wedding blessing and reception on May 10th in Champion, Pennsylvania! We have updated this site with the latest timeline, travel info, and more. We are currently working on setting up the registry and FAQ section. We are also working on designing dual-purpose wedding announcements and save-the-dates and are hoping to send them out as soon as possible. We are so grateful for the multitude of blessings God has poured on us these past couple months and look forward to celebrating with you all in three months!

The Best Laid Plans...

An Update on the Suppes-Zemanek Wedding [12/14/24]

On June 1st, 2024, Jacob knelt to the ground and Katie joyfully said "yes"! So began the road to marriage for the two lovebirds... Now, fast forward about 6 months and the two of us were deeply entrenched in the rigors of wedding planning. Katie and I had booked the venue, bought the dress, paid the photographer, and done many more tasks all in preparation for the big date: May 10th, 2025. However, in the face of all our efforts towards our date of choice, God had other plans for us. On December 5th, I received an email informing me that the U.S. Army Cyber School had developed a new program and I am to report to Fort Eisenhower, GA on January 6th. This hit Katie and I out of nowhere. Having completed ROTC and commissioned as an officer in the Army, I had been told that I would be attending the Cyber branch schoolhouse in June of 2025. That date, around which we had planned our wedding, had now been moved up about five months. So what now? After many tears, prayers, and conversations with family and friends, Katie and I have decided to get married, only now we're doing it a whole lot faster! Our plan (assuming the Army doesn't throw us any more curveballs) is to have a much smaller, more intimate ceremony on December 28th. (Holy cow, that's two weeks away!) This will enable us to move down to Georgia and start our life together, albeit a little earlier than expected. Due to the last minute nature of these plans and proximity to the holidays, we understand many of you will not be able to attend. (We won't hold it against you.) If you are able and wish to attend, simply let us know you plan on coming and we'll account for you on our end. For details on this expedited ceremony, please explore the rest of this website. If you are disappointed about missing out on this wonderful occasion, fear not! Katie and I are also planning to hold a wedding celebration at the (already booked) original venue on the original date of May 10th, 2025. This will give us the opportunity to celebrate with all our extended family and friends in a more conventional wedding reception. More details about that will be shared as we get closer in the new year. Whew, that was a lot of information! Katie and I still have a lot of work to be done, but if there is one thing that this whole situation has shown us, it is that God is in control. He truly has been our anchor this last week and a half and none of this would be possible without Him. For that we give Him praise! With that being said, Katie and I would love to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Please keep us in your prayers this holiday season. With love, Jacob Suppes
