We met our freshman year of high school in our theatre class. We were close friends and were in the same friend group. In the fall of 2016, our junior year, Katy had heard through friends that he was potentially going to ask her to homecoming. Not wanting that chance to slip away, Katy texted him one day, "I want to go bowling. Do you want to go bowling?" Sure enough, Jacob did want to go bowling, and on that bowling date, he asked Katy to homecoming. The rest is well... history!
A group of our closest friends took a trip to Broken Bow, Oklahoma, to stay in a cabin for the weekend. We enjoyed the weekend with lots of games, hot tubbing, hiking, and kayaking. On the last evening of our trip, we were getting ready to go to a nice dinner, so of course, we dressed nicely. Before leaving, Jacob said he needed to show Katy something on the deck. The deck was decorated with a beautiful arrangement of flowers, pots, rugs, and pillows. Jacob brought Katy to the area, read scripture out of his bible, and got down on one knee to ask her to marry him. Katy, of course, said "YES!" and we were engaged. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Aubrey, TX!
