What is River Farm?

Answer

River Farm is one of George Washington's original farms in the Northern Virginia area, now the American Horticultural Society (AHS). Located south of Old Town, River Farm rests on 25 acres of gardens and woods overlooking the Potomac River. Is there a dress code?

Answer

Formal attire and/or cocktail attire, please. Think cocktail dresses, fancy jumpsuits, suits and ties, and/or dark jackets and slacks! Our "Meet and Greet" event at our office rooftop will be casual (but appropriate) attire.

How do I get to the Meet & Greet?

Answer

We recommend Uber; however, we can validate parking in our office garage if you wish to drive. Just ask us for a ticket before you leave! Please enter at the 1000 Wilson parking garage (just down the hill from the main 1000 Wilson entrance). Take the garage elevator to "M". From there, check in with security, and follow the signs directing you to the 30th floor.

Is there transportation to and from the venue?

We scheduled shuttle service for our cocktail reception on Sunday to pick up from The Alexandrian and Hotel Indigo. Should you miss the shuttle or choose to stay at a different location, our venue is easily accessible via Uber.

What time is the shuttle?

Answer

Our family ceremony guests will be picked up at 2:45pm, and our cocktail reception guests will be picked up at 4:30pm. The events are scheduled for 3:30pm and 5:00pm, respectively.

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes, there is parking on the premises. While we appreciate the convenience of your own vehicle, we prefer you take advantage of our shuttle or Uber so that you can celebrate with us safely.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Related children are invited to attend the Meet & Greet, as well as the cocktail reception. However, please note our quiet wedding ceremony on Sunday will be adults-only.

What should I do with my kids during the ceremony?

Answer

Should a couple in our family wish to bring their kid(s) to the reception, we ask one parent to hang back while we exchange our vows. We will set up a coloring and crafts station inside to entertain the kids for 20 minutes or so.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation specifies "and guest", then yes. We'd prefer to celebrate with an intimate group, and so we plan to invite just the significant others we know well.
