Travel Note
TRAIN The nearest railway stations are Castle Cary (9 miles from Wells) and also Bristol Temple Meads and Bath Spa (both 21 miles), where you will find bus links to Wells. BUS First Buses 29, 77, 126, 173/4, 375, 376, 377, X75 all stop or pass through Wells. Leave the bus at Wells Bus Station or ask the bus driver if they stop at Wells Market Place which is very close to The Bishop’s Palace. CAR The main routes to Wells are the A371 and the A39. PARKING The Bishop’s Palace and Gardens is a short walk from all central car parks: for long stays use Waitrose’s Whiting Way car park, BA5 2PJ (top car park) which is located just off the A39 or Morrisons car park on East Somerset Way, BA5 1SQ. There is free parking without time limitations on some of the streets around Wells, unfortunately these are very limited spaces but always worth while to drive around and check.
Flight
The closest airport to our wedding is Bristol Airport (BRS) which is a 40 minutes drive to our venue. For international guests, the closest largest airport is London Heathrow (LHR) which is a 2 hours 45 minutes drive to our venue.

We have fully booked out this hotel for two nights (07/08/25 and 08/08/25). It is a 5 minute walk from the venue. It does not have parking, but it is a cheaper room rate compared to the other hotels in Wells and includes a continental breakfast.
