In the Summer of 2019, Jack slid into Miller’s DM’s on Facebook. He was on a boys' trip to New York City, and while he had his entire weekend scheduled, he used this moment to ask if she still lived in the city and if she had any recommendations of “good restaurants.” It worked out to be a good enough question, as the two started chatting and flirting, taking things from Facebook to text and soon, visits to the city. Most of 2020, life as we knew it halted, and Miller flew back to her parents house in Greenville, NC. Jack was living in Raleigh, but his mom lived only a cool 11 minutes from the Orians. Jack and Miller snuck around, seeing each other for takeout dates and car rides like they were teens until the first restaurant opened back up for outdoor dining. They decided to make it official that summer - for the remainder of her time back home they hung out at their parents’ houses, cooking and making trips to the beach any chance they could. Fall rolled around, and when Manhattan called Miller back home, Jack started his job search, landing a dream job in the financial industry that winter. In 2022, Zeus and Kitty, the couples pets, became roommates as Miller and Jack merged closets and rent checks in their new NoHo apartment. The two have spent the last three years together in Manhattan doing all the things New York couples in their early 30's do: expending outrageous efforts getting reservations at the hottest restaurants, running errands in SoHo, eating pizza for every other meal, and making it home just in time for rooftop sunsets. In 2023, Jack out-planned the planner and surprised Miller with a very special private dinner on his birthday at Palma, their annual Valentine’s Day restaurant in West Village. On September 21, 2024, Jack and Miller will scream their love from the rooftop (!), surrounded by family and friends, with nothing short of a good time, great views, and even better company.
