Los Pinos Café
This place is open 24 hours and has excellent service. They serve amazing local food like rice and beans, mofongo, tostones, porkchops and great coffee. Jackie's parents go here often for their lunch break!
El Hamburguer
PSA: this place is walking distance from the hotel. Jackie grew up going to El Hamburger with her parents during her dad's lunch break or after school. It's a very casual hamburger joint on the side of the road overlooking the ocean. It's nothing fancy but their burgers and fries are amazing! Jackie's go to order is a rockefort burger with bacon, extra crispy fries, and a Coke Zero! Be like a local and give this place a try!
El Patio De Sam
Nice place in Old San Juan to grab lunch with great mojitos (Jackie's favorite is the coconut mojito)! If you are exploring the old city, definitely stop by for a drink.
Barrachina
Barrachina is home of the world-famous piña colada, where don Ramon Portas Mingot, first made the famous drink in 1963. You'll be drinking a lot of those on your stay here but we highly recommend you check this spot out!
Restaurante Raíces
Great authentic food in Old San Juan. Jackie's favorite dish is the churrasco with chimichurri and a side of mofongo! And always with a mojito.
Chocobar Cortés
Definitely an awesome place for breakfast! It's unique and you'd be surprised how many savory dishes go well with chocolate. Try the grilled cheese with chocolate, we promise its good.
La Vergüenza Viejo San Juan
Beautiful spot in Old San Juan overlooking the ocean! It's a great place for drinks, light appetizers, and awesome music in their rooftop.
Café Cuatro Sombras
Cute little spot to go grab a coffee and pastry. They have a delicious coquito latte!
Pirilo
Pirillo is a great local pizzeria in Old San Juan that also has a great beer selection!
Bodegas Compostela
Jackie's mom highly recommends this if you are lookin for a nice dinner (and definitely make reservations!). It's a Spanish bodega offering amazing food and an endless selection of finer wines and champagnes.
La Casita Blanca
A beautiful little restaurant that feels like you're in your Puerto Rican grandmother's kitchen. You are greeted with delicious plantain soup and bacalaitos as a start and their food is delicious.
