Let’s do this

It’s really a typical love story, at least for this day and age… we met on an app. The app Hinge helped us to find love. We talked for a couple of days on the app and then text. I had been through some really awkward and awful first dates so I insisted on a FaceTime chat before actually meeting him and even that went well. That call gave me butterflies that are still around when I think about this man! The next night we had our actual first date in Port Jeff. We asked each other a ton of ridiculous questions while we looked at the water and ended the night at a bar sharing a giant pretzel. Apparently this was the “second best first date” he’s ever had and from this our love story truly began!

One of the stops on our cruise was Nassau, Bahamas where we disembarked and took a ferry ride to Paradise Island with a few others tourists. Once on Paradise Island most of us started looking for the beach but I needed to use the restroom. When I can out we had lost everyone else and had no idea where the beach was. We asked around and after a 20 minute walk in the rain we found the public beach. We were greeted by some locals who offered us chairs, umbrellas and eventually we took them up on a drink. He took us to a small table in the beach where he cored a pineapple and added 7/8ths rum and 1/8th juice. When he handed EJ the pineapple he said “$40 for unlimited drinks” when asked how much for 1 the guy said “$30 for 3 refills” …naturally we got the $40 pineapple! As we walked on the beach drinking out of the sticky pineapple EJ asked if my hands were clean and because I’m a brat I said “no” he followed it up with “so I can’t put a ring on it?” To which I said “no” again. We went down tot he water to wash my hands off and he said “what about now?” When I turned he was on his knee with the box in his hand and I said “shut the f*** up!” Followed by the easiest YES of my life.
