Let Our adventure Begin

Late on a girls night out in Charlotte, Jaclyn was visiting her college roommate Allie, enjoying dinner and drinks. When they were graced by a guy named Tony who casually sat down at their dinner table (just like old times at Iowa). Uninvited mind you. After some bantering with Tony he asks them what they thought of his two buddies at the bar. With a casual glance Jaclyn noticed Daniel and thought he was handsome with his curly hair and scruffy beard. Daniel and his buddy went to sit by their table and Jaclyn couldn't wait to talk to Daniel, but he sits on his phone...does he have a girlfriend, Jaclyn thought? Once Tony got up, Daniel made his move and sat next to her. They talked all night long and Jaclyn remembers the conversation being exciting and unexpected. Daniel asked if he could steal a kiss at the end of the night, and Jaclyn giggled as she smiled and said no "classy girls don't kiss in bars you fool". She knew she'd see him again someday. The night continued with dancing and laughing, much like how the relationship continues to be. At the end of the night, Daniel asks for Jaclyn's number. Much to her surprise he texted her that night, and they have spoken every single day since. After long distance phone conversations, Jaclyn flew spur of the moment to Charlotte on May 26th, 2017 to see Daniel. And as they say the rest is love...and history...and just the beginning...with a side of cheese.

Our First few months were filled with travels and basically “honey mooning” because of our excitement. Then we hit the road. We’ve traveled to 10 states together and 5 countries. After we brought our fur baby Bismarck into our family, I began to realize how much more amazing Jaclyn was than I originally thought. She was full of love, avoided confrontation, always had other people's intentions prioritized, and her smile and positive attitude as infectious. Needless to say we started talking about our future and I was hesitant to commit to our long term plan. Before our Europe trip I got the ring and immediately hide it in a pair of dress shoes. Pack them up and never check on the ring again until we travel from Prague, Nurenmburg, Bosenheim, and then to Paris. We pick out an evening boat ride through the Seine river with glass roofs and sides to enjoy the views. While we were on our return leg of the trim I ask her if she would like to go out on the back of the boat with me to see the Eiffel Tower at night with me. When we got to the back of the boat I said that I was ready to start talking about kids. She looked at me surprised and said WHAT! Then I got down on one knee and asked her if she would make me the most happiest husband in the world and pulled out the ring. We shed some tears and shared some long kisses and she said YES! I explained that I was hesitant to talk about kids and marriage because I wanted to surprise her with the proposal. We walked back into the boat and I yelled at the top of my lungs, “SHE SAID YES!!!” The whole boat cheered for us. In the last two years we have traveled, adopted our 4 legged son, completely remodeled a house and yard, and found our best friends in each other. If we have been able to do so much in the 2 years I can only how much we will be able to accomplish for the rest of our lives. The woman of my dreams has made all of my dreams come true. I will love her forever.
