There are so many fun things to do in and around the area! Our wedding date coincides with the last date of South by Southwest (SXSW), an annual musical festival held in venues across downtown Austin. Please note that some of the recommended downtown spots might be packed due to the festival. If this this does not sound like something you want to do, please scroll down to some of our favorite spots in Austin.
Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge

This location offers one of the best views of downtown Austin. You can choose to park near the bridge and take a leisurely stroll across, or enjoy the scenic 3-mile Town Lake trail, a favorite activity of the bride and groom.

Texas Capitol

The Texas State Capitol is a great spot to visit with it's beautiful architecture and impressive history lesson! Brianna took many field trips here as a kid and it's a special place for the bride and groom because they took their engagement photos here.

Looking for a fun activity with kids? The Thinkery is an indoor and outdoor interactive play space located just 10 minutes from downtown Austin and 20 minutes from The Domain in North Austin.

If you're looking for a relaxing and beautiful spot, check out the Zilker Botanical Garden. Just minutes from downtown Austin, it's a great place to wander through lovely trails and enjoy a variety of plants. Perfect for a peaceful break and a bit of nature.

For a refreshing dip, head to Barton Springs pool! This natural spring-fed pool, located in the heart of Austin, offers cool, clear water that's perfect for a swim. (P.S. It's really cold!) It's a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike, and a great way to beat the Texas heat.

If you're a fan of Thai food, you're in for a treat! Austin is known for good food food trucks, and this is one of our favorites. It's a small place, but definitely worth it if you're hungry. We recommend ordering ahead of time because they sell out fast! Hours of operation are Wednesday through Sunday, 4pm - 9pm.

For some of the best barbeque in Texas, head to this spot on Barton Springs Rd., just minutes from downtown. It's often busy, so you might have to wait in line, but it's worth it! It's also Jack's favorite barbeque joint. Tip: Ask for the moist brisket, and they'll take good care of you!

This modern-style coffee shop is located at The Domain in North Austin. It offers an array of excellent coffees, delicious pastries, quiches, sandwiches, and desserts. It's the bride's favorite place for coffee! Her go-to order is a mocha with oat milk.

Looking for a fun time for the whole family? Head over to Topgolf in North Austin. Located next to The Domain, this is the perfect spot to hang out with friends and family, enjoy some friendly competition, and try some delicious food.

Crowe's Nest Farm

Located in Manor, Texas, this farm is a nonprofit organization dedicated to wildlife in Texas. They work with organizations to help injured, abused, or neglected animals for care and sanctuary. Their hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday, 10AM to 2PM.
