Jack and Sarah met volunteering with a music organization called Sofar. Sofar is an organization that puts on intimate shows held in unique venues, like someone's living room or a bike shop. It typically features three musicians, playing four songs each. And it's BYOB! Sarah and Jack met on Saturday, August 12, 2017. The show was in Deep Ellum at a photographer's studio/apartment. Sarah got out of an uber and Jack (mustache and all) was working the guest list; they met right there on the sidewalk and instantly clicked. Sarah offered Jack some of her beer and they ended up sitting together listening to the artists all night. Jack remembers after each artist they started sitting closer and closer. After the show, some of the Sofar volunteers went to another bar to get a drink. Sarah and Jack continued to sit next to each other and talk all night. At the end of the night, Sarah, Jack, and their friend Kat ran through the rain to get to their cars. Unfortunately, Jack didn't muster up the courage to ask Sarah for her number but instead got in an Uber and immediately texted Kat moments later. Fortunately, Kat was a great friend and immediately gave Jack Sarah's number. The next day, Jack and Sarah hung out at his apartment and watched Game of Thrones - a huge risk because this is the type of show you watch with very close friends. Sarah's roommate and best friend had his address in case he turned out to be like Ramsey Bolton. Jack and Sarah met during Sarah's busiest time of year - working 12+ hour days. Luckily, Jack is a great planner and Sarah had to eat. They went on their first true date the Tuesday after they met. From then, they were together as often as possible.
