I got to know Jack freshman year in a friend group created out of a mutual class. It was in discussions with that group that I learned we had very similar theology and passions and I grew to respect his priorities in life. Not wanting the distraction of liking a guy, I prayed that God would take the distraction away. But He didn’t. We continued to get to know each other through “study” sessions with our friends and he began to “happen” to walk me to my car every night since the commuter lot was conveniently placed close to his dorm. He started coming to my church because it was more similar to what he was looking for and that allowed us to continue to get to know each other in a church context and get to serve alongside each other. Our first conversation about our relationship came in the fall of our sophomore year, but we didn't start dating until the following spring. “We couldn’t see THAT coming” was the sarcastic response of just about everyone we knew. The past couple of years have been filled with studying, walks, conversations, dates, Sunday afternoons at my parent’s house after church, and many other sweet memories. On October 15, 2022, Jack proposed at a little park in my neighborhood that we had been to often and I said yes. I am beyond thrilled to get to spend the rest of my life serving God alongside Jack.
