Patty wanted to start this story by saying we met at work, but that’s not entirely true. Our story started with our friend (and soon to be officiant) Rebekah. Rebekah introduced us first at a party. There was no initial love at first sight story, and we hardly talked to each other that night. HOWEVER, several months later, we were reintroduced (again, thanks to Rebekah!) at a party at Jack’s house. We finally started to hit it off. Jack made the first move and asked Patty on a date. Although Patty was initially hesitant to make anything official, we started to talk to each other more at social gatherings for the next year or so. It wasn’t until December 2018 that Jack and Patty made things official with a sushi and movie date! Since then, we have progressively made the relationship more serious. We took trips together to music festivals and national parks. Jack’s friends became Patty’s and Patty’s friends became Jack’s; it was easy for each of us to become a larger part of the other’s life. We slowly introduced each other to our respective families and soon realized we both come from large, fun-loving households. Our relationship survived a pandemic in which our love for each other continued to grow. We found joy in sharing meals together, watching Survivor, trying new homemade cocktails and hanging out with our kitties. In 2021, when the world was slightly more normal, we took the next big step and moved into a house together. The biggest drama since then has been between Simon and Bella, but even they have grown to love each other…kind of. Over the next few years, Jack and Patty continued to grow together. Jack convinced Patty that running is fun, and Patty supported Jack when he completed an Ironman race. We find joy in showing each other our new dance moves, playing board games with our friends, and completing house projects. We’ve both changed: Patty is now a fan of the Jaguars and Jack now has a bedtime. We have been together through happy and sad times, and have shown that we will always be there for each other. Jack took the final step and proposed to Patty at the farm behind their house on 2/9/2024. She (obviously) said yes! We can’t wait to actually get married and celebrate with all of you!
